An Odd Thing

As an epigraph to Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City:

“It’s an odd thing, but anyone who disappears is said to be seen in San Francisco.” – Oscar Wilde

Been in San Francisco for a solid month and a half now. Filling out applications and resumes and dishing out cover letters like it’s my job (if only that were my job!). Though my search to establish a career may be a bit rocky, one thing is for certain: I love it here.

The nature and the neighborhoods and the landscapes are extraordinary. So much to explore.

And I’m ready to set down some West Coast roots. Anxious as hell, but ready to make something of myself or whatever it is one does in this life.

Leaving home was hard and being so far away from family is one of the most difficult things I’ve faced, but their support is wonderful. Fudge. I miss them a lot. Hopefully a trip home will be in order for the holidays or something. I mean, how can you not want to go back to this:

Izzzzzzzzzy!

So. Until then, I’ma just be doin’ my thing. Taking in all that SF has to offer.
